Evergas successfully continues to modernize its fleet with an average fleet age below 4 years. Due to sharpened regulation, a period of high energy prices and heavy competition, a lot of development has been made in the field of hull optimization and design. Evergas puts high emphasis on minimizing energy and fuel consumption requirements, and has therefore gone through extensive design processes for all its hulls. Every hull is carefully designed and thoroughly tested in a reputed ship model basin. Apart from the hull itself, Evergas also performs rudder and propeller tests in this basin, to make sure that we achieve the most efficient overall ship design.
Dual Fuel Engines
Dual fuel capability allows us to comply with all existing emissions regulations when running the engines on gas. Still we have the flexibility to comply with these regulations by using MDO if gas isn’t available, and in areas where there are no emission regulations, the ships can use HFO. Depending on the availability and price of the various fuels, we are able to optimize our operations and offer the best solution to our clients.
Trilobe Cargo Tanks
A recent improvement of the more classic bi-lobe design, the tri-lobe tanks offer higher containment capacity of around 30% for the same ship length.
Whether running alone or in combination with our dedicated diesel generators, the shaft generator allows for efficient, reliable and flexible power production for the high energy demands that exists on our gas carriers because of the re-liquefaction plants.
It takes 68 Mini Coopers to produce the same power as the Dragons is able to on its auxiliary system for cooling, operation and hotel.
